The International Grooving & Grinding Association (IGGA) is the sole representative of the grooving, grinding and concrete pavement preservation (CPP) industry. From specification and product development to marketing and promotion, we cover the entire spectrum of issues germane to companies involved in this marketplace.

The IGGA is a non-profit trade association founded in 1972 with a stated mission of serving as the leading technical and promotional resource for acceptance and proper use of diamond grinding and grooving as well as CPP. In 1995, the IGGA joined in affiliation with the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) to form what is now referred to as the Concrete Pavement Preservation Partnership (IGGA/ACPA CP3). The IGGA/ACPA CP3 serves as the lead industry representative and technical resource in the development and marketing of optimized pavement surfaces, concrete pavement restoration and pavement preservation around the world.

Our Mission and Values
It is the IGGA’s mission to promote the increased and proper use of diamond grinding and grooving on all pavement surfaces as well as the preservation and restoration of PCC pavement. The IGGA works proactively with the public and private sectors to develop quality oriented specifications and standards, promote and transfer technology, provide regulatory support, share best practices and communicate the benefits of diamond grinding, grooving and PCC pavement preservation / restoration to specifiers, owners and users alike.
History
The grooving and grinding industry evolved from experimental applications of diamond saw blades and equipment. The industry can be traced back to the late 1940’s when a single diamond blade was first used on a concrete saw to groove pavement. Since that early tentative step, grooving, grinding and texturing with diamond blades has developed into what is today a multi-billion-dollar industry that is literally practiced around the world.

The International Grooving & Grinding Association was organized in Lakewood, California in June of 1972. IGGA’s inception was largely due to the inspiration and driving force of Lester Kuzmick who envisioned an organization that could advance the collective interests of contractor members. The IGGA has served as an industry focal point and promoting entity for the ensuing 48 years.

In 1995, the IGGA joined in affiliation with the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) to form what is now referred to as the Concrete Pavement Preservation Partnership (IGGA/ACPA CP3). The IGGA/ACPA CP3 now serves as the lead industry representative and technical resource in the development and marketing of optimized pavement surfaces, concrete pavement restoration and pavement preservation around the world.

“I joined the IGGA to keep on top of, as well as influence, industry issues. The membership is hard at work improving this industry and the IGGA does a good job of keeping me informed.”

“Membership in IGGA has been very beneficial as it allows us to have a voice in the industry and the association serves as an additional marketing arm. Membership also gives us access to the lastest trends and changes in the industry, as well as helps us understand the current market, acceptance of our products and techniques, and provides insight on what the agencies around the country think and their priorities. I highly recommend membership in the IGGA.”
