WASHINGTON'S SPS-2 TEST SECTIONS ARE NOW 31 YEARS OLD!

You Are Invited:


The Washington Department of Transportation, LTPP, and IGGA/ACPA invite you to participate in an SPS-2Tech Day Event. You will learn about the results of the largest concrete pavement experiment ever undertaken.


This is a unique opportunity to learn about and evaluate firsthand the performance of a national concrete pavement experiment.

Presentations will begin at 9:00 AM in the Washington Associations of Wheat Growers conference room. After the presentations, lunch will be served and then the participants will be transported by bus to the SPS-2 field site where you will be able to review the actual performance of the various sections. WSDOT will provide a lane closure to allow participants to examine the

roadway.


Participants are required to bring and wear hard hats and safety vests.

Background:

The Washington SPS-2 project is located on SR 395 in Adams County (southeast Washington), three miles south of Ritzville, Washington on Interstated 90. The 12 LTPP test sections and one state supplemental section are located on the northbound roadway between MP 91.57

and MP93.39. The project was constructed beginning in 1994 and opened to traffic on November 21, 1995.
